$95 to $185 per m², supplied and laid. Prices may vary with site conditions and variations.
A driveway is the biggest slab most homes will ever get and the one that works hardest, carrying cars over the same lines every day on ground that moves with the seasons. Around Croydon that ground is clay over the foothills, blocks are often sloped, and the driveways that fail are almost always the ones where the preparation was skimped. Ours are built from the base up: old surface out where there is one, base material brought in and compacted where the ground needs it, steel mesh in every slab, and falls set so water leaves the surface instead of pooling against the garage.
The three finishes
Broom finished plain grey is the most economical and still the right call for side runs and second driveways. Oxide coloured concrete carries the colour through the slab, from charcoal to warmer tones matched against the house at the site measure. Exposed aggregate leads on street-facing driveways across the outer east, for its looks and its wet-weather grip.
The crossover is part of the job
Most new driveways in Maroondah involve the crossover too, and that section belongs to the council. It is built to Maroondah’s standard drawing MCC-501, between 3.0 and 4.0 metres wide, under a vehicle crossing permit with a pre-pour inspection and a final inspection. A permit may be required before the work can start; what your job needs is confirmed in writing at the quote.
What it costs
Driveways run $95 to $185 per square metre by finish, supplied and laid. Removing a failed driveway first adds $35 per square metre including disposal through the removal and replacement service. Prices may vary with site conditions and variations; the written quote after a site measure is fixed. The cost guide explains what moves the price, the calculator gives a first number, and the specification shows exactly what is under the surface.
