What we pour for you
Six jobs, one standard underneath
Every slab gets the same preparation, steel and drainage. What changes is what sits on top of it, and that is your call at the site measure.

Concrete removal and replacement Old driveways, paths, slabs and paving broken out, loaded and disposed of across Croydon and the City of Maroondah, and the new surface poured on a corrected base. Removal adds $35 per m2 to the rate for whatever replaces it. Rate$130 to $220 per m² Poured to the line
The line comes first
Concrete only sits level if a level is set before the truck arrives. Pegs, stringline, formwork checked against it, then the pour is screeded to that line and nothing else. It is the least glamorous hour of the job and the one that decides how the next two decades look.
Your job, start to finish
What happens when you call
- 01
Site measure
Free, at your place. The job is measured, falls and access are checked, and finishes are picked from sample boards against the house in daylight.
- 02
One written quote
One fixed number in writing, itemised against the published specification. If a council crossover permit may be required, you know before anything is booked.
- 03
The build
The old surface out where there is one, base material brought in and compacted where the ground needs it, steel mesh laid, then the pour. Most residential jobs are one to two days on site.
- 04
The finish
Control joints cut to direct any movement, exposed aggregate washed and sealed after cure, and vehicles on it seven days after the pour.
Specification
How our concreting is built
Full specificationTwo quotes can look the same on paper and be very different underground. This is what is included in ours.
The old surface removed and the area prepped, with base material brought in and compacted where the ground needs it. On the clay of the foothills, preparation is where cheap concreting fails.
Steel mesh in every slab we pour, sized to what will sit on it, with a heavier specification quoted where vehicles and machinery will park.
A fall directed away from the house on every slab, and a grated drain formed in where the block falls the wrong way.
Control joints cut to direct any movement, seven days before vehicles, and exposed aggregate sealed after cure.

Common questions
Questions we get every week
What does concreting cost in Croydon?
Driveways run $95 to $185 per square metre by finish, shed and garage slabs $110 to $150, paths $90 to $130 and patios $100 to $180, supplied and laid. Removing old concrete adds $35 per m2 including disposal. Prices may vary with site conditions and variations; the written quote after a site measure is fixed.
Do I need a council permit?
The concrete on your own land usually does not need one. A crossover, the section between your boundary and the road, needs a vehicle crossing permit from Maroondah City Council before it is built or widened, applied for through the council’s online portal, and the work is inspected before the pour and on completion. What your job needs is confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
How long does a job take?
A site measure is usually within a few days of enquiry. Most residential jobs are one to two days on site once booked, and vehicles stay off new concrete for seven days after the pour.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Croydon, Croydon Hills, Croydon North, Croydon South, Ringwood and Heathmont: the City of Maroondah, and only that. Working one municipality means one set of council rules we know inside out.
